Jim and his wife, Susan, incorporated the company in 1985. Previously Jim worked in a furniture warehouse until he was presented an opportunity to enter the construction field. He discovered great satisfaction working in the industry, and takes genuine pride in every project, no matter its size.
Jim recruited Susan to assist with the business and accounting side of the company. Her help proved invaluable as Chrisman Construction worked to establish itself in the Boulder community. Though Susan later relinquished her full-time position to pursue her career as a commercial real estate broker, she has maintained an active role in the company.
Chrisman Construction has worked closely with Jim's father, Byron Chrisman, a well-known retired tax attorney in Boulder, turned avid real estate developer. The Chrisman father and son "team" have often joined forces on projects, both in new construction, renovations and tenant finishes.
Examples of Chrisman Construction work can be found all over Boulder County. Projects include light industrial complexes, medical and professional offices, research and development facilities, as well as hundreds of interiors remodeled and renovated to the client's complete satisfaction.
In recent years, Chrisman has expanded operations and its scope of business to communities outside of Boulder County, and as far west as Steamboat Springs. With adherence to the strong principles that founded the company a quarter century ago, and an ongoing commitment to excellence, Christman Construction anticipates continued strong growth in the years to come.
